That mix title has a loving double meaning. It’s literally the grounding instruction, but it also says you exist in the present. No diagnosis. No victim identity. No promise that a frequency will fix anything.
One of my AudAI series, You Are Here is the newest member of a family of frequency/music works. Future and older pieces explore different sonic intentions without turning the catalog into a collection of “conditions + frequencies.” A few worth checking out, if you resonate with this one:
My instinct is that You Are Here has the deepest resonance. It leaves the listener with agency rather than defining them by what happened to them.
So, as always, welcome back to your true self!
But before you press play, I want to tell you a little about what you’re about to hear in this project.
This is music, but it is also an experiment in listening.
With AudAI, I’m interested in the space where human intention, music, sound design, and artificial intelligence meet. The goal isn’t to make music that tells you what to feel. It’s to create an environment in which you can simply be where you are.
You are here.
That’s the starting point.
This soundscape combines music and environmental sound with something you may not immediately notice: a carefully constructed binaural beat.
If you’re unfamiliar with binaural beats, the basic idea is wonderfully strange.
Two slightly different tones are presented separately to your ears. In this piece, your left ear receives 200 Hz, while your right ear receives 206 Hz. Your auditory system processes the difference between those two signals as a perceived rhythmic fluctuation of 6 Hz. In other words, the 6 Hz “beat” isn’t sitting inside the recording as a conventional 6 Hz tone. It is something your hearing system perceives when the two ears receive their slightly different signals. (PubMed Central (PMC))
That’s why stereo headphones are important, required actually, for this particular work. The left and right signals need to remain separate all the way to your ears.
The 200 Hz and 206 Hz carriers were chosen deliberately. They are low enough in the mix to remain relatively unobtrusive within the musical environment, while their 6 Hz difference places the perceived beat in the theta range, a frequency band that has been investigated in research involving attention, relaxation, cognition, and emotional states.
There is intriguing research in this area, including recent reviews finding potential effects on anxiety and related outcomes, but the evidence remains heterogeneous and should not be interpreted as proof that a particular frequency produces a particular psychological result. (PubMed)
So I haven’t designed this as a sonic prescription, but since 2019 I have used Binaural Beats with sleep headphones and at least for me, they work wonders in the short and long-term.
There is no magic number here.
There is no “6 Hz cures anxiety” button hiding inside your headphones.
What I’ve created is an intentional listening environment that may support qualities many of us could use more of: quiet, steadiness, attention, spaciousness, reflection, and a sense of being safely present in the moment.
The binaural layer itself is deliberately quiet.
Both carrier tones are fixed at −36 dB of track gain. That number is a production decision, not a medically established dosage. I chose it because I wanted the binaural element to live underneath the music rather than compete with it. Ideally, you experience the composition as music first. The binaural architecture is there as part of the underlying design.
You don’t need to concentrate on the tones.
In fact, I’d suggest that you don’t.
Go about your day and let it play in the background, if you wish. The music itself makes an ideal background soundtrack, so any binaural beat effects that reach you are a mental health bonus.
You can easily hear the 6 Hz frequency fade in at be start, and fade out at the end, not to mention between music tracks, but as a mix, the mix allows the binaural beat to disappear into the larger soundscape. You eventually won’t hear it at all, but your body and mind will feel it and ideally be uplifted as a result, and that is my core objective with You Are Here and all AudAI pieces.
The music carries the emotional and human dimension. The environmental sounds provide a sense of physical space. The binaural layer provides another, quieter dimension of rhythmic organization.
Three layers.
One listening experience.
A few things to know before you begin
Use GOOD stereo headphones.
This is essential if you want to experience the binaural component as designed. Ordinary speakers or cheap ear buds just can’t provide the same left/right separation or frequency response. Do yourself the favor of hearing and absorbing all, as intended.
Listen at a comfortable volume.
Louder isn’t better. The binaural carriers are intentionally subtle. There is no prize for discovering a 200 Hz tone hiding under the furniture. Sure, you will seek it, at first, but then it will fade from your ears, but never your center, which listens more than we realize.
You don’t need to “do” anything.
You can sit quietly, lie down, breathe, read, reflect, or simply listen as you go about your day or night, regardless of your activity. And yes, obviously, if you indulge, this is a perfect soundtrack. I recommend a nice pot of Earl Grey tea to complement the experience and help first ground you for what I hope becomes a lift-off, one you repeat often, as needed. Just be sure to invite me over, cool? I’ll make Thai Curry that will blow your socks off.
Don’t force relaxation.
If your mind wanders, let it wander. ADHD? Good! I have a love it for my creative process, so I hope you adore yours as well. It’s a superpower, IMHO. If you notice yourself thinking down new pathways, notice and follow them, no matter where they take you. If you become absorbed in the music, that’s fine too. The objective isn’t to achieve some special state on command.
YOU run this show. Not me or anyone else.
You.
Give yourself permission to stop.
If the sound becomes uncomfortable, irritating, disorienting, or simply isn’t working for you, take the headphones off. Your response to the music matters more than my intentions as its designer.
And please remember that this is not a medical treatment, psychotherapy, or a substitute for professional care. Yes, music and binaural beats are being explored scientifically for effects involving mood, anxiety, attention, pain, sleep, and physiological arousal, but the research is still developing, and results vary between people and between studies. (PubMed)
What I can offer you is much simpler.
A place to listen.
A little room around your thoughts.
A piece of music that doesn’t demand anything from you.
And perhaps, for a while, an opportunity to notice something wonderfully ordinary:
You are here.
That’s more than enough.
Take a deep and long breath.
Press play when you’re ready.
I’ll meet you somewhere in the sound.
Bailamos, mis amigos…

The complete Binaural Beat generation (Audacity) recipe
The architecture I like here is music carrying the emotional narrative, environmental sound carrying physical presence, and the 6 Hz binaural layer quietly sitting underneath both. It becomes part of the composition’s infrastructure rather than announcing itself as a “frequency therapy” track.
My sincere hope is that you like it too, all ~twelve hours of it, and like me, you benefit from it all, repeatedly. But the only caveat I’d share is this is not intended for “sleeping music” due to the periodic percussion, which can be distracting for sleep. Perhaps your ears and mind are more tolerant than mine, so give that a shot, but in my experience, like vocals, drums tend to demand our attention and pull us out of the restful pockets.

The Google Flow Music Text to Music Prompt
Instrumental ambient organic music designed for deep calm, grounding, emotional safety, and quiet restoration.
Tonality: (in the same “key” as the 6/200 Hz Binaural Beat) warm open G major with subtle G Lydian color, centered around G, D, C, and Em, using open fifths, suspended 2nds, gentle 6ths, and slowly evolving consonant harmonies. Avoid dramatic minor-key passages. Keep the harmonic language spacious, reassuring, natural, and emotionally sophisticated.
Tempo: very slow, approximately 58–64 BPM, with an unhurried human pulse rather than a rigid metronomic feel. Minimal percussion. No strong backbeat.
Sound palette: intimate felt piano with long natural decay, extremely soft nylon-string guitar harmonics, warm bowed acoustic strings, gentle wooden mallet tones, airy analog synth pads, subtle low-volume cello warmth, occasional distant flute or breath-like woodwind tones, and very soft sustained vocal-like textures without recognizable words.
Field recordings should be organic and immersive: quiet forest air, distant leaves moving in a light breeze, soft water beside a shoreline or shallow stream, occasional very distant birds, subtle room tone, and natural environmental detail. The field recordings should feel like a safe open place rather than a wilderness adventure. Keep them understated and musical, never distracting.
Begin almost imperceptibly, with air and distant natural ambience before the musical elements slowly emerge. Allow the piece to breathe. Introduce piano and harmonic textures gradually, with long spaces between phrases. Let each musical gesture resolve naturally rather than creating suspense.
The emotional trajectory should move gently from stillness toward warmth, then toward spaciousness, reassurance, and quiet inner strength. The music should feel like being given room to breathe. No sadness-as-spectacle, no melodrama, no cinematic trauma cues.
Include extremely subtle stereo binaural-beat-compatible sustained tones around a 200 Hz carrier, with a 6 Hz difference between left and right channels, designed to sit beneath the musical texture rather than sound like an obvious tone. The binaural layer must remain subtle and organically integrated with the composition.
The 200 Hz carrier should be musically compatible with the surrounding G-centered harmonic environment and should never dominate the listening experience.
Production: exceptionally soft dynamics, warm analog character, natural acoustic space, wide but stable stereo field, no harsh high frequencies, no sudden volume changes, no startling transients, no heavy sub-bass, no distorted sounds, no dramatic crescendos. Preserve silence and negative space.
No drums, no cinematic percussion, no ominous drones, no dissonant tension, no sound effects suggesting danger, pursuit, conflict, crying, distress, footsteps, doors, voices, or traumatic memories.
Overall character: organic, intimate, deeply peaceful, spacious, warm, human, grounded, quietly hopeful, restorative without becoming sentimental.
The finished piece should feel like a safe landscape in sound: nothing demanding attention, nothing requiring interpretation, nothing threatening to arrive. Just gradually increasing space, warmth, breath, and agency.
