Transoundtrack – Liner Note

There are no words on this record, and that is deliberate. You have spent enough of your life being explained, debated, and defined by people who weren’t there when you figured it out. Here, nobody narrates you.

Listen for the long builds. They are patience, every slow, certain step toward the person you already knew you were. Then listen for the release, because it always comes. It was never a question of if.

The bass is warm and unhurried, a heartbeat that trusts you. The synths are glassy and shimmering, the way light looks when you catch yourself in a window and, for once, recognize who’s looking back. The breaks stutter like first mornings: a new name said aloud, a voice trying itself out, a laugh that surprised you. And somewhere in the middle, where blue and pink fade into white, the music is at its loudest. That was no accident. The in-between is not a waiting room. It is the peak.

Nothing here was made to be sad. There is enough of that in the world. This is for the dance floor at 2 a.m., for the kitchen on an ordinary Tuesday, for the long drive home when you finally feel like yourself. It is weightlessness, and you earned every minute of it.

I built these sounds with machines, open tools, and a lot of listening. But the intention was human from the first note, and it was this: you were never a rough draft. You are the finished song, and the world is still learning to hear it.

One human to another,
JJ, Sound Designer/2nd Bass, TATANKA
