This piece was made for the moment before the day asks anything of you. There are two halves to it. One is close, finger-picked acoustic guitar, and felt piano so soft you can almost hear the hammers. The other is vast, slow, drifting ambient textures that blur the edges between one moment and the next. The close half keeps you in your body, and the vast half lets your mind wander off for a while and come back lighter.
I asked for something soothing and human, so I built it as a conversation between the earth and the sky. Nothing in it is in a hurry, and you don’t need to follow it. Let it play while you do something else, or do nothing at all.
It’s paired with sunrise footage that together gives the music a place to rest its eyes. The video is two hours long, so it’s embedded and linked to, yours to use however you might ever need. For example, you could put it on while the coffee brews, or keep it playing softly through a long workday. It can sit in the corner of a room where someone is healing, or run under a slow evening breath. And if you’re awake when you wish you weren’t, I hope it keeps you company.
The music was made through human-AI collaboration and open-source tools: Google Flow Music (Lyria 3.5), Claude, ChatGPT, Perchance, Audacity 4.0.1, and Linux (Ubuntu 26.04). Like all my work, it is free and never monetized. It’s yours, so please share it freely.
Rest easy. The horizon will still be there when you open your eyes.
JJ, Composer/Sound Designer
An instrumental song, no lyrics, that is soothing, meant to relax and ground out the listener. Alternate between warm, finger-picked acoustic guitar pieces (Folk/Americana) and soft, felt piano compositions to keep the music feeling human, organic, and physically close. Add a strong focus on strong psychedelic and seamless, drifting ambient layers and textures to create a continuous, dreamlike escape where the listener can simply rest their mind.
