A Liner Note From The Creator, JJ
You’re holding proof of a problem.
Everything on this record, the Riot Grrrl distortion, the nu-metal breakdowns, the industrial glitch textures, the half-time sludge drops, the track titles typed in all-caps like a threat, I built it from a template. Consciously. Deliberately. Because the template works, and that’s exactly what’s wrong.
VOID.COLLIDER didn’t emerge from years of basement shows and busted knuckles and something I had to say. It emerged from pattern recognition. From noticing how many acts are out there doing precisely this, stitching together the aesthetic vocabulary of genuine rage and rebellion, packaging it in 46 minutes, and calling it a soul. The angst is borrowed. The chaos is engineered. The “rawness” is a production choice.
I’m not above it. That’s the point. I did it, easily, and you should be unsettled by how seamless it sounds.
The artists I’m describing aren’t obscure. They’re on playlists. They’re on tour. They have merch tables and Patreons and sincere interviews about their process, their vision. Meanwhile the actual lineage, the women who screamed first, the kids who played through blown speakers because they had no other choice, gets compressed into an aesthetic mood board for people whose primary skill is monetization strategy.
SYSTEM_REJECTION is 17 tracks of that exact cynicism, handed back to you with the wiring exposed.
Listen critically. To this. To everything.
This album is a wild, high-contrast fusion—think early 2000s angst met with modern industrial grit. It’s defined by abrupt shifts between manic skate-punk energy and crushing, half-time sludge breakdowns. Here are the standard fare song descriptions that capture that specific saturation and chaotic structure:
1: The High-Energy Fusion
“Typical Riot Grrrl vocals. Industrial pop-punk fusion. Aggressive detuned guitar riffs clashing with glitchy, high-pitched synthetic noises. Fast, driving punk percussion with a sharp, cracking snare. Sudden transitions into heavy, syncopated nu-metal breakdowns. Raw, saturated production, high-impact and chaotic.”
2: The Heavy Industrial Lean
“Typical Riot Grrrl vocals. Dark industrial metal and sludge fusion. Thick, wall-of-sound distorted bass and palm-muted chugging guitars. Slow, oppressive rhythm with sudden stop-start dynamics. Abrasive electronic textures and manipulated feedback. Crushing and rebellious atmosphere.”
3: The “Sonic Collage” Approach
“Typical Riot Grrrl vocals. Genre-fluid alternative rock. Abruptly jumping between melodic power-chord choruses and dissonant industrial soundscapes. Saturated signals, heavy overdrive on all instruments. High-energy unpredictability with a mix of double-time punk beats and half-time breakdowns.”
